The Sky
A picture of the heavens above one place at one moment, with the Sun, Moon, planets and brighter stars where they really were or are. Choose Now, pick any date, or see your own birth sky, the heavens over your birth city on the day you were born.
How to read it
- North is always at the top and east is on the left, as on a star chart, because you are looking up.
- The little hat in the middle marks the spot straight above you. Pick a direction under the picture and it turns to show which way you face.
- No birth time? We show the evening sky of your birth date.
The positions are calculated with an open astronomy library, not drawn by hand. The Sky is free in the app. It is for fun and reflection, not prediction.
