Marjoram

A soft, grey-green, sweetly scented herb, milder and sweeter than its close cousin oregano.
In the garden
Full sun and light, well-drained soil. It is tender, so grow it as an annual or in a pot indoors for the winter.
In the kitchen
Add near the end of cooking to soups, sausages, roast chicken and tomato sauces.
Take care
- Food amounts are fine. Strong medicinal amounts are traditionally avoided in pregnancy.
- The concentrated oil is strong; do not swallow.
